Wild at Heart is a country song by Gloriana. It is their only song that I know. It came on the radio today when I was on my home from class so I decided to write my blog about it. I am actually listening to it right now too. I am not really sure why, but I really like it. I think it might be a combination of the music and the lyrics. The music is upbeat, and I like that. The music kind of makes me want to get up and dance. The song is about young people that are "running loose and wild." They are young and think they are in love. They are carefree and willing to do just about anything. I would say it is kind of a romantic song. I like a lot of love songs. I asked my mom why she thought I liked this song. She said she thought it was because I am shy, but I want to be wild, but not wild in a bad way. Wild in a romantic sweep me off my feet kind of way. Romantic things like laying under the stars and kissing in the rain. I think I agree with what my mom said. I do want to fall in love someday, and do romantic things with that person that I am in love with. I am shy and reserved and not always open to new things. Sometimes I wish I was more wild and carefree.
I really like music. I listen to it all the time. I listen to all different kinds of music. I like rock, country, and metal better than other kinds of music. I don't think I really have a favorite band or artist. There are too many good bands and singers to choose just one as my favorite.

What an interesting observation from your mom, Amanda! (I like it that you're close enough to have converations like this one.) Being shy can be very limiting at times. I encourage you to continue to participate in events (like poetry slams!) and experiences that push you outside of your comfort zone. (I have to do this, too.) One of my favorite quotes ever is by Eleanor Roosevelt: "Do one thing every day that scares you."
ReplyDeleteI love this song too. After I first heard it, I was hooked. I love how the song mentions being free and wild at heart. It is very up beat song that makes you want to get up and dance no matter where you are. I can't wait until this CD comes out because I want to hear all their other songs.

I am a music fanatic myself so i can relate to not having one favorite, i would have to narrow it to 3 or 5 favorites :) and i know what you mean about being shy, i actually am a very shy person but once i am comfortable, getting me to shut up is the trick. and i love the part in this post about wanting to be swept off of your feet sort of thing cause i think for the most part today, there is not as much real romance. I think most people confuse romance for sex and related stuff these days which is really sad. and i would have to say most of my favorite songs are either really depressing songs or hardcore love songs.
